Katina Athanasiou is Senior Vice President of Sales and Services, The Americas for Celebrity Cruises, a premium cruise line with the Royal Caribbean Group (NYSE: RCL), where she leads the brand sales strategy for all sales channels and the sales organization across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Latin America.
In her role, Athanasiou oversees the strategy and direction for national and regional accounts, field and inside sales, sales planning and analysis, corporate charters and incentives, onboard cruise sales, brand events and trade marketing, as well as training and development. With Celebrity since January 2023, Athanasiou joined Royal Caribbean Group in December 2021 as Senior Vice President, Sales at Silversea Cruises, after spending more than a decade with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, where she served as Chief Sales Officer for Norwegian Cruise Line. Prior to that, she served in a variety of senior management positions across the industry for Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
A 25-year veteran in the cruise industry, Athanasiou understands how to drive business in the Americas and has spent her career developing, implementing, and leading profitable sales and business strategies. Her proven track record is a result of her keen ability to lead high-performing teams with a strong focus on collaboration, performance, and culture.
A proud member of CHIEF, a private network organization focused on connecting and supporting women executive leaders, Athanasiou is a passionate leader who empowers and motivates people to be the best version of themselves. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Communications from Florida State University and currently resides in South Florida with her husband, two children, and energetic puppy.
